This course exposes students to different kinds of academic listening in English. Students are introduced and required to listen to those academic listening texts independently. They will go through the process of listening as, starting from listening for specific information, drawing conclusions, understanding statements and negative expressions, understanding special expressions, idioms, and phrasal verbsmaking inferences and understanding implied meaning, and identifying topic. The texts presented here are in sentences, monologs and longer dialogs or long lectures.
