Sociolinguistics is a developing branch of linguistics and sociology which investigates the individual and social variation of languageIt is a two-credit in one semester of the undergraduate course. Ie materials have been developed with the Indonesian context in view. This course guide gives you an overview of the course. It also provides you with information on the organization and requirements of the course.

  1. To expose students to the concept of sociolinguistics
  2. To make the students understand sociolinguistics in their area
  3. To improve students’ knowledge of language use in the Indonesian society
  4. To acquaint students with the necessary sociolinguistic requirements for English usage in the Indonesian society
